The flowers arrived in the gardens when they were introduced by Elisa Baciocchi at the beginning of the 1800s.
If you have bought a ticket to access the Camellia show in Sant’Andrea di Compito, you are eligible for a discount for weekday entrance to the Villa estate (where there are many historic species of Camellia, and whose buildings have been recently opened to the public). The reduced ticket costs €11 instead of €18. The ‘scents and sensations’ trail at Villa Reale will transport you back in time with the power of plant perfume!
A unique visitor experience which traces Elisa’s passion for botany. Experiencing the scents of the past offers a direct link with the park and Villa’s history.

[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]An example programme (which could be changed to suit your requirements) might be:
10am Arrival at the park. Distribute maps and any material necessary for the treasure hunt, dividing into groups.
10:15am The game starts! Guided by teachers, the children must find plants, following the clues they find around the park. During the hunt they will learn about the main characteristics, origins and features of the various trees.
11am End of the game – the treasure has been found! A small prize for all participants.
11:10am Break for a snack.
11:30am Free to discover the other parts of the park or of the museums.
1pm Return to school or have a picnic in the park (we recommend that you bring rugs).[/vc_column_text][/vc_tta_section][/vc_tta_accordion][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_empty_space][/vc_column][/vc_row]
